[Also in Group XXX] In a conveyer chain built up from strip metal links 11 bent to V-form, a connecting pin 19 passed through aligned holes in the ends 12 of one link is located in the bent portion 14 of an adjacent link by a plate 16 engaging in a slot 15 in the portion 14 and having a hole 18 to receive the pin 19 or a removable liner therefor, rollers 22 being freely rotatable on the ends of the pins to engage a guide track of cruciform section (not shown). The plate 16 has two spaced grooves 17 adapted to receive the ends of the slot 15 so that the plate is held rigid in both transverse and longitudinal directions. An extension 16a of alternate plates 16 forms a load-supporting link. Each pin 19 is knurled towards one end so that it can be forced into and locked to one end 12 of the associated link. Specifications 639,244, [Group XXX], and 665,883 are referred to. |
