<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to reliably recognize underwater photographing is being executed. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: imaging means capable of imaging a moving image; determination means which determines whether the environment of imaging by the imaging means is underwater or not; and display control means which, if the determination means determines that the environment of imaging is underwater, performs control to make a display to indicate that recording is being executed, on the plural edges of the effective display region of a display screen during the recording of the moving image by the imaging means.
