<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve appropriate control and processing by use of a distance to an object irrespective of an outer surface shape of the object. <P>SOLUTION: When a distance to the object is calculated by analyzing a plurality of images obtained by capturing an imaging area around a vehicle with two cameras 10A, 10B mounted on the vehicle, the imaging area is irradiated with non-visible light beams emitted from different directions alternately by two light emitting parts 21, 22 so as not to emit the light simultaneously. Corresponding points showing the same point on boundaries C1, C2 between an irradiation area and a non-irradiation area of the invisible light, which are generated on the outer surface of the object by the irradiation of the invisible light, are specified for each light irradiation period, to calculate a distance on the basis of displacement of the corresponding points, for each irradiation period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
