PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved lithium ion secondary battery which enables the improvement in discharge capacity and cycle characteristic of an all-solid type lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: To solve the problem, an all-solid type lithium ion secondary battery is provided according to an aspect of the present invention, which comprises: positive electrode active material particles; and solid electrolyte particles in contact with the positive electrode active material particles. The positive electrode active material particles include: lithium cobaltate particles; a first coating layer including a nickel atom and covering at least a part of each lithium cobaltate particle; and an element M1. The composition of the positive electrode active material particles is represented by the chemical formula 1. The average particle diameter of the positive electrode active material particles is 5-35 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
