PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber which suppresses a residual stress during curing caused by a difference of a coefficient of thermal expansion between a glass material and a resin material, and can reduce a loss.SOLUTION: An optical fiber 94, which includes a clad portion containing a cured resin and a resin having fluidity in the periphery of core portions 92 and 93 mainly containing a glass material or a coating portion containing a cured resin and a resin having fluidity in the periphery of the clad portion mainly containing the glass material, is manufactured by an apparatus for manufacturing an optical fiber that includes: a resin coating device 13 for mixing the curable resin and a non-curable resin, and applying the curable resin and the non-curable resin to the periphery of the core portion 93 or the clad portion; and a resin curing device 14 for curing the curable resin.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
