PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved data storage device and method.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a data storage device comprises: a magnetic disc; a non-volatile solid-state device; and a controller. The controller is configured to: receive a write command including a logical block address, and write data associated with the logical block address; determine that previously written data associated with the logical block address is stored in the non-volatile solid-state device; and store the write data in the non-volatile solid-state device in accordance with the determination that the previously written data associated with the logical block is stored in the non-volatile solid-state device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
