PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing the occurrence of an image defect.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes image carriers 20 and 20a, a transfer part 26, a transfer bias application part 28, a conveyance part 30, an element 40, a current measuring part 42, and a control part 50. The transfer part 26 forms a pressing part N for pressing a recording medium P together with the image carriers 20 and 20a. The transfer part 26 transfers a toner image on the image carrier to the recording medium P passing through the pressing part N. The transfer bias application part 28 supplies a transfer current to the transfer part 26, to apply a transfer bias to the transfer part 26. The conveyance part 30 conveys the recording medium P toward the pressing part N in a conveyance direction D. The element 40 is conductive when a voltage equal to or more than a specified value is applied. The current measuring part 42 measures the value of a leakage current flowing in the element 40. The control part 50 controls the value of the transfer current. The control part 50 changes the absolute value of the transfer current on the basis of the absolute value of the leakage current.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
