PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endoscope and an endoscope system which can perform both normal observation and oxygen saturation degree observation with enhanced blood vessel contrast.SOLUTION: A light source part 20 includes a dichroic mirror 53a, a light shielding plate 55, and a light shielding plate movement mechanism 56. The dichroic mirror 53a separates blue light LB emitted from a B-LED 50b into a first blue light LB1 and a second blue light LB2 in a wavelength band longer than that of the first blue light LB1. The light shielding plate movement mechanism 56 moves the light shielding plate 55 and arranges the light shielding plate 55 on any one light path of the first blue light LB1 and the second blue light LB2, thereby to selectively reduce the intensity of the first blue light LB1 and the intensity of the second blue light LB2. The absorbance by hemoglobin in the wavelength band of the first blue light LB1 is larger than that in the wavelength band of the second blue light LB2. In the wavelength band of the second blue light LB2, the absorbance by oxyhemoglobin is larger than the absorbance by reduced hemoglobin.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
