PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that is reduced in size to be portable and improves operability, maintainability, and portability, and an image forming apparatus including the image reading device.SOLUTION: An image reading device 100 includes a first frame 112, a second frame 113 that is rotatably connected to one end of the first frame 112, and sheet placing means 102 rotatably connected to the other end of the first frame 112. In a first state, the second frame 113 is overlapped on the first frame 112 to form a conveyance path for a sheet 101; a document image conveyed from the sheet placing means 102 is arranged toward the conveyance path; and the document image is read by image reading means 109 provided at least in the first frame or the second frame 113. In the second state, the second frame 113 is developed in a direction to be separated from the first frame 112 and subsequently rotates in a direction to cover the sheet placing means 102 to be capable of conveying the sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
