PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To integrate a ring-shaped light-emitting part on a substrate easily, while enhancing mode stability and compaction.SOLUTION: A semiconductor light-emitting element having a ring-shaped light-emitting part includes a ring-shaped light-emitting part 20 formed on a part of a substrate 10, an optical waveguide 12 for mode control formed of Si on the upper surface or lower surface of the light-emitting part 20, and contiguous thereto at at least 2 points, and an optical waveguide 13 for output formed of Si on the upper surface or lower surface of the light-emitting part 20, and partially contiguous thereto. The optical waveguide 12 for mode control has a structure for coupling to the light of one of clockwise or counterclockwise circulation mode of the light-emitting part 20, and feeding the light back to the other of clockwise or counterclockwise direction of the light-emitting part 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
