PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position sensor that can easily minimize a difference between a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction in spectrum intensity of light propagating through a grid-like core.SOLUTION: A position sensor comprises: an almost square sheet-like optical waveguide W having a sheet-like core pattern member including a grid-like part 2A composed of a plurality of linear cores 2, and an outer peripheral part 2B arranged in a state where the outer peripheral part extends from each core 2 of the grid-like part 2A, and runs along an outer periphery of the grid-like part 2A; two light emitting elements 4; and two light receiving elements 5. One end face of the core 2 of the outer peripheral part 2B having the core 2 of the longitudinal direction of the grid-like part 2A extendedly provided and the other end face thereof, and one end face of the core 2 of the outer peripheral part 2B having the core 2 of the lateral direction of the grid-like part 2A extendedly provided and the other end face thereof are aligned with one side of the square shape of the optical waveguide W. One light emitting element 4 is connected to the two one end faces of the core 2 of the outer peripheral part 2B, respectively, and one light receiving element 5 is connected to the two other end faces of the core 2 of the outer peripheral part 2B, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
