PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite yarn capable of improving a coverage and a degree of adhesion of a synthetic fiber yarn to a core yarn and capable of suppressing a damage of a core yarn.SOLUTION: The composite yarn 1 comprises: a core yarn 10; and a first cover 20 that covers the periphery of the core yarn 10 by being weft knitted by using a synthetic fiber yarn to protect the core yarn 10. The composite yarn 1 can improve a coverage and a degree of adhesion of the synthetic fiber yarn of the first cover 20 to the core yarn 10 since the synthetic fiber yarn of the first cover 20 for covering the core yarn 10 is weft knitted. However, in the case of weft knitting, a fastening force to directly wind the synthetic fiber yarn around the core yarn 10 cannot be provided.
