PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wear test apparatus and method that can precisely predict wear resistance of an upper cover rubber of a belt conveyor in actual use.SOLUTION: A rotating speed of a rotary drum 7 fitted with a rubber sample R on an outer peripheral surface is set to a desired speed, and a press load by a contact member 4 is set to a desired press load by a weight member 5. A desired contact member 4 is selected out of a plurality of kinds of contact members 4a, 4b, and 4c which are provided as contact members 4 and different in specifications among contact surfaces coming into contact with a surface of the rubber sample R, and fitted to an arm part 3 constituting a press mechanism. The rotary drum 7 is rotated and the contact member 4 is made movable in a tangential direction to a rotating direction of the rotary drum 7 to press a surface of the rubber sample R, so that a displacement sensor 9a detects the quantity of press-directional displacement of the contact member 4 pressing the surface of the rubber sample R.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
