PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe information collection apparatus capable of preventing the reduction in the quality of collected probe information while reducing the traffic of probe information.SOLUTION: If it is determined that an information amount of high-density information (probe information) stored in a high-density-information storage unit (14) is necessary and sufficient, a probe information collection apparatus (5) transmits, to an in-vehicle device (3) of a target vehicle (2), a request to reduce an information amount of probe information transmitted from the in-vehicle device (3). Furthermore, if it is determined that a state of a running road changes from a state at timing of transmitting the request (reduction request), the probe information collection apparatus finishes transmitting the request (reduction request) to reduce the information amount of the probe information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
