PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a negative electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which enables the increase in charge and discharge capacities of a negative electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, and an initial efficiency; a negative electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which is arranged by use of such a negative electrode material; a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery; and a battery pack.SOLUTION: A negative electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: at least one kind of particles selected from silicon particles, silicon oxide composite particles each including a silicon oxide phase made of SiO(1≤x≤2) and a silicon phase made of Si encapsulated or held by the silicon oxide phase, and lithium-containing silicon oxide composite particles each including the composite particle with lithium included therein; and an organic molecule R bound through a urethane bond to at least one of a surface layer portion of each silicon particle and a surface layer portion of the silicon oxide phase.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
