PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photo-radical polymerization initiator which by itself does not contain a nitrogen atom, sulfur atoms, and further phosphorous atom but comprises only an environmentally friendly carbon atom, hydrogen atom, and oxygen atom, and which is active to energy rays including light having wavelength of from 335 nm to 400 nm.SOLUTION: Provided is a mono(substituted carbonyloxy)-9,10-anthraquinone compound represented by the following general formula (1).
