PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mold flux to prevent slab surface vertical cracking of Al-containing steel whose Al concentration is 0.1 mass% or more, and a continuous casting method of Al-containing steel.SOLUTION: There is provided mold flux for continuous casting of Al-containing steel in which a flux initial composition before being added to the inside of a continuous casting mold with CaO, SiO, an alkali metal oxide, and a fluorine compound as fundamental components satisfies a value of 0.9-1.9 for (CaO)/(SiO), a value of 0.1-0.4 for (CaF)/{(CaO)+(SiO)+(CaF)}, and a value of 0-0.4 for {(fluoride of alkaline metal)+(AlO)}/{(CaO)+(SiO)+(fluoride of alkaline metal)+(AlO)}.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
