The present invention relates to a wireless lighting device which can configure a network between lighting devices as the lighting devices include a wireless communication means, and transmit lighting control information through the network, and a method for controlling the wireless lighting device. According to the present invention, provided is a wireless lighting device comprising: a detection unit, a communication unit, a control unit, and a lighting unit. The control unit receives a lighting control signal from an external device via the communication unit, generates a processing signal which adjusts output of the lighting unit based on the lighting control signal, searches for an external device capable of performing wireless communication via the communication unit, evaluates received signal strength measured during communication with the searched external device and thus generates connectivity information based on the received signal strength, generates a network map of all wireless lighting devices by referring to connectivity information of other wireless lighting devices received via the communication unit, and refers to the network map when transmitting at least one of environmental information detected by the detection unit, the processing signal generated by the control unit, and the information received from the external device, via the communication unit.
