PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cell structure in which cells are allowed to spontaneously form a cell structure without particularly using an artificial scaffold, and a cell structure having a lumen structure (tubular structure) can be provided, and a cell structure manufactured by the method.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a cell structure comprises: a making process of making a low cloud point type temperature-responsive polymer composition; a preparation process of preparing a partially covered cell culture sheet having a covered cell culture sheet area which is provided so as to cover a part of the culture surface of a cell culture sheet by the low cloud point type temperature-responsive polymer composition and surround a first non-covered cell culture sheet area, and provided so as to be surrounded by a second non-covered cell culture sheet; a dissemination process of disseminating cells on a culture surface of the partially covered cell culture sheet at the cell density of 1.0×10/mmor more; and a culture process of culturing disseminated cells.
