PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a position of a user with a simple device and system configuration, to provide the user with information relating to the position, and a program.SOLUTION: An information providing system 100 includes: beacon terminals 8A-8C arranged in a plurality of positions in a store S to transmit radio waves including a beacon ID; a mobile information terminal 1 carried by a user; and an information providing server 4. The mobile information terminal 1 transmits radio wave detection information including the beacon ID of the radio waves received from the beacon terminals 8A-8C and radio wave intensity information. The information providing server 4 specifies a range of a position of the mobile information terminal 1, on the basis of the radio wave intensity received from the beacon terminal 8 specified from the radio wave detection information received from the mobile information terminal 1, in reference to a beacon management table 51, and extracts position related information corresponding to position information indicated by the range of the position, from the beacon management table 51, to be transmitted to the mobile information terminal 1.
