PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method and a manufacturing device of a metallic ring for a continuously variable transmission, capable of preventing degradation of strength of a side end portion in rolling processing after edge processing on the side end face relating to the metallic ring for the continuously variable transmission.SOLUTION: A side end face 10'Se is disposed downward to gravitational force in edge processing relating to the side end face 10'Se of a metallic belt to a first intermediate product 10' (metallic belt) cut into the ring shape from a cylindrical metallic drum, laser is applied to the side end face 10'Se from a lower part, and a cooling gas G is sprayed toward the side end face 10'Se from an upper part of the side end face 10'Se simultaneously with or later than the irradiation. In spraying the cooling gas G, the cooling gas G,G is sprayed toward the side end face 10'Se from both of an inner side and an outer side of a trunk portion 10'S of the first product 10'.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
