PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both a reduction in power consumption and a reduction in waiting time for a user.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus having a standby mode where power is supplied to a plotter part and a printing operation can be performed, and an energy-saving mode where power is not supplied to the plotter part or the supply of power is lower than that of the standby mode, the image forming apparatus including: power control means for supplying power to the plotter part and controlling transition from the energy-saving mode to the standby mode; user information acquisition means for acquiring user information for specifying a user who uses the apparatus; operation history storage means for storing the user's operation history of the apparatus; and operation time calculation means for calculating a predicted user's operation time on the basis of the user's operation history, where the power control means adjusts the timing of the transition from the energy-saving mode to the standby mode on the basis of the predicted user's operation time specified by the acquired user information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
