PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating masking method which can stably prevent coating deposition to a part out of a coating object of the outer face of a shell without depending on the number of continuous coating lots when the outer face of the shell is to be coated.SOLUTION: When the sealing treatment of a part flame-sprayed by spraying a hole sealing treatment agent (coating) out of the nozzle 4 of a spray gun 3 toward the outer face of a rotating cast-iron pipe 1 is to be performed in the outer face coating of the cast-iron pipe 1, an air curtain 6 that cuts off a flow of the hole sealing treatment agent extending in a tangential direction of the outer face of an insertion hole 1c with the same width as the width B of the insertion hole 1c to direct from the nozzle 4 of the spray gun 3 toward the outer face of the cast-iron pipe 1 is formed of compressed air jetting out of an air nozzle 5 provided at the side of the insertion hole 1c out of a coating object of the hole sealing treatment agent. Thus, even when the number of continuous coating lots increases, the deposition of the hole sealing treatment agent to the insertion hole 1c can stably be prevented.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
