PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure seal performance which is effective for use in high-speed rotation and stabilized for a long period of time even in a severe environment.SOLUTION: A sliding constant velocity universal joint comprises an outside joint member 10 having an opening end, and an inside joint member 20 which transmits torque via balls 30 between the outside joint member 10 and itself while permitting angular deformation and axial deformation. A spherical seal part 50 is arranged between a shaft 23 extending from the inside joint member 20 and the outside joint member 10. The spherical seal part 50 is constituted of: a spherical seal inner ring 51 which is fixed to an external peripheral face of the shaft 23, and in which a protruded spherical face 54 is partially formed at an external periphery; a spherical seal outer ring 52 which is arranged at an internal peripheral face of a cover 60 extending from the outside joint member 10 so as to be axially displaceable, and in which a recessed spherical face 55 contacting with the protruded spherical face 54 of the spherical seal inner ring 51 is partially formed at an internal periphery; and a compression coil spring 53 which is arranged between an opening end of the cover 60 of the outside joint member 10 and the spherical seal outer ring 52, and elastically energizes the spherical seal outer ring 52 to a direction in which the recessed spherical face 55 contacts with the protruded spherical face 54 of the spherical seal inner ring 51.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
