PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift device for a vehicle capable of securing safety against an operational error, selecting a range quickly and simply, suppressing an increase in size of the device, and facilitating careful and secure selection of reverse range.SOLUTION: A shift device 1 for a vehicle comprises a shift lever 10 supported to be tiltable in a longitudinal direction. The shift level 10 can be automatically returned to a home position from a tilted position. Upon one tilting operation of the shift device 10 from the home position "H" (○) to backward, a neutral range "N" (V) is set, and upon two consecutive tilting operations, a drive range "D" (VV) is set, while upon one tilting operation of the shift device 10 from the home position "H" (○) to forward, a neutral range "N" (▵) is set, and upon three consecutive tilting operations, a reverse range "R" (▵▵▵) is set.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
