PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the reduction of time required for automatically determining a radiation direction of an illumination device.SOLUTION: An imaging system comprises: an illumination device capable of automatically driving a movable part including a light emission part for changing a radiation direction of the light emission part; and an imaging device. The imaging system includes: first calculation means for calculating first distance information relating to a subject on the basis of lens information of the imaging device; second calculation means for calculating second distance information, on the basis of reflected light information, from the subject, obtained by turning the radiation direction to the subject and making the light emission part emit light; and determination means for determining the radiation direction of the light emission part on the basis of at least one of the first distance information and the second distance information. When a predetermined condition relating to the lens information is satisfied, the second calculation means does not calculate the second distance information and the determination means determines the radiation direction on the basis of the first distance information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
