PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable semiconductor light-emitting device and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A semiconductor light-emitting device 110 comprises: first to third layers; and an insulator layer 30. The first layer 10 has: a first face 10a including an uneven part 10db including a bottom 10d and a top 10p; and a second face 10b on the side opposite to the first face. The third layer 15 is provided between the second face and the second layer 20. The insulator layer is provided on the first face. The insulator layer includes: a first part 30a which coincides with the bottom along a first direction from the second layer towards the first layer; and a second part 30b which coincides with the top along the first direction. The first part includes: a first end on the side of the bottom; and a second end on the side opposite to the first end. The distance between the second end the second layer along the first direction is shorter than the distance between the top and the second layer along the first direction. A first thickness of the first part along the first direction is larger than a second thickness of the second part along the first direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
