USER TERMINAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR IRIS RECOGNITION THEREOF

A user terminal device and an iris recognition method using the user terminal device are provided. The user terminal device comprises: an imaging unit which photographs an image of a user; a display unit which displays the photographed image; and a control unit which detects user′s eye from the photographed image, controls the display unit to display a guide image at a position where the detected user′s eye is present in the photographed image, and performs iris recognition when the difference between the size of the iris included in the detected user′s eye and the size of the guide image falls within a preset range.
