According to the present invention, a vertical type semi-continuous casting method comprises: a process of inserting a surface plate to a lower side of a mold; a process of first casting a cast-piece by cooling a molten steel by supplying the motel steel into the mold; a process of drawing the cast-piece from the mold, by lifting down a surface plate in a state of supporting a lower part of the cast-piece; a process of stopping a supply of molten steel to the mold on an end of the casting, and drawing an end part of the cast-piece from the mold; a process of stopping a descending operation of the surface plate; and coagulating the cast-piece by inserting supplements having a same composition as the cast-piece into an end part of the cast-piece. As such, in the embodiments of the present invention, a cutting part cut due to a pipe fault occurred during a casting work is able to be used in minimizing pipe faults thereafter before a current casting work without being wasted. That is, the supplements are manufactured by melting or crushing a cutting part cut due to an occurrence of the pipe fault, and are then inserted into an end part of the cast-piece during the casting work of a next charge to coagulate the cast-piece. As such, the quality of the cast-piece is improved by being able to reduce a length of a defective pipe when being compared to a prior method. Moreover, the remaining pipe generation part is cut and is then recycled in the work of the next charge; thereby being able to reduce the amount of disposal of the raw material, and also reduce costs. |
