PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow velocity measurement method capable of accurately performing a flow velocity measurement even when the number of tracer particles in the inspection area is few.SOLUTION: A plurality of nylon particles 10 are mixed into the water, and an inspection area D in the water is irradiated with slit light. A plurality of first photographing different with each other are selected among a plurality of photographing when the inspection area D is continuously imaged by a high speed camera, and the positions of scattered light of the slit light by the nylon particle 10 in a plurality of first photographed images in the plurality of first photographing are superposed with each other so as to generate one front image. Further, the positions of the scattered light of the slit light by the nylon particle 10 in the plurality of second photographed images in the plurality of second photographing formed by collecting the second photographing performed after elapse of the same time for each first photographing are superposed with each other so as to generate a rear image. The front image is resolved into a plurality of first small windows, and a correlation value between each first small window and each second small window is calculated after the rear image is resolved into a plurality of second small windows.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
