PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce temperature of a contact part of an image carrier and a cleaning blade after end of printing without increasing the number of components.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 comprises a brush roll 11 brought into contact with a surface 40a of a photoreceptor drum 40 and removing transfer residual toner at least partially and holding the same, a cleaning blade 15 brought into contact with the surface 40a of the photoreceptor drum 40 and removing toner which cannot be removed by the brush roll 11, static elimination means 8 disposed on the upstream side of the brush roll 11, for static elimination of a surface potential of the photoreceptor drum 40, a temperature detection part 17 for detecting internal temperature of the apparatus itself, and voltage changeover part 19 for changing voltage application to the brush roll 11. When the internal temperature detected by the temperature detection part 17 exceeds predetermined temperature, the voltage changeover part 19 applies voltage of the same polarity as the toner held by the brush roll 11 to the brush roll 11 at the end of printing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
