PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide processed animal hair as a processed fiber, which has a sufficient carry amount of Prussian blue, and sufficient fastness, for example which can exhibit sufficient absorptivity when being used as an absorbent of a radioactive substance, and which can be used in various forms, and to provide a radioactive substance absorbent using the processed animal hair.SOLUTION: The processed animal hair comprises on its surface, a metal salt compound of ferrocyanic, at least part of the epitaxial cuticle on the hair surface is removed, a hydrophilic part is formed on the hair surface. To the hydrophilic part, the metal salt compound is introduced. The radioactive substance absorbent is mainly formed of the processed animal hair.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
