PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of reducing flicker by suppressing arc fluctuations caused by the relation between a direction of discharge current and a direction of the convection of gas.SOLUTION: A light source device includes a discharge lamp having an anode 21 and a cathode 22, the tips of the anode and the cathode being disposed to be close to each other. In a steady state, the tip of the cathode 22 is higher than the tip of the anode 21 and disposed at a position away from the center axis of the anode 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
