摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including a wound type electrode body, which is enhanced in safety in the event of overcharge; and a method for manufacturing such a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a wound type electrode body arranged by winding elongated positive and negative electrodes opposed to each other through a separator; a nonaqueous electrolyte; and a battery case in which the electrode body and the nonaqueous electrolyte are enclosed. It is supposed that a capacity per unit area of the electrodes of a part of the wound type electrode body which forms an innermost turn of winding is C, and a capacity per unit area of the electrodes of a part forming the outermost periphery of the wound type electrode body is C. In this case, an outermost periphery capacity reduction factor R defined by the formula, R=(1-C/C)×100 satisfies the condition given by: 0.3≤R≤3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
