PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer efficiently executing processing synthesizing a plurality of data and performing printing while maintaining quality, and further to provide a control method of the printer.SOLUTION: A printer 5 comprises: a printer control section 27 executing processing developing printing object data as an image in each of a first layer L1 and a second layer L2 and processing overwriting the first layer L1 on the second layer L2 and synthesizing an image; a printing section 10 executing printing on the basis of the image synthesized by the printer control section 27; and a printer storage section 50 storing data of the image synthesized in the second layer L2. The printer control section 27 develops designated data as the printing object data in the second layer L2 when image data stored in the printer storage section 50 are designated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
