PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lauric acid production method using diacylglycerol acyl transferase derived from algae, and to provide a transformant for use in the method.SOLUTION: The invention provides a lauric acid production method comprising the following steps (1) and (2): (1) a step of carrying out co-introduction of a gene encoding acyl ACP thioesterase and a gene encoding the following protein (A) or (B) into a host to obtain a transformant: (A) a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence represented by a specific sequence having diacylglycerol acyl transferase activity derived from algae; (B) a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence having 81% or more identity with the specific amino acid sequence in (A), and having diacylglycerol acyl transferase activity; (2) a step of collecting lauric acid from the obtained transformant.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
