The invention relates to a separator plate (2) for an electrochemical system (1), comprising two metal individual plates (2a, 2b), wherein the metal individual plates (2a, 2b) have passage openings (22-27) for operating media and possibly coolant and distribution structures (28), which are formed in the metal individual plates (2a, 2b) and which each communicate with at least two of the passage openings (22-27). A peripherally extending sealing structure (3, 31, 31', 32) is formed in each of the metal individual plates (2a, 2b) at least peripherally around the electrochemically active region (29) and at a distance therefrom and/or peripherally around at least one of the passage openings (22-27) and at a distance from the edge thereof, the cross-section of which sealing structure has a bead roof (39), two bead flanks (38, 38'), and, at least in some segments, two bead feet (37, 37'). At least in the region of the bead roof (39) of the sealing structure at least in some segments, the sealing structure (3, 31, 31', 32) extends sinuously with at least two wave periods having convex and concave segments. According to the invention the bead roof (39) has a constant width (WD) in the region of the sinuous extent of the bead roof and the base width (WI, WA) of at least one of the two bead flanks (38, 38') changes in the region of the sinuous course of the bead roof (39). |
