The present invention addresses the problem of providing a therapeutic material for skin ulcers which is highly effective in treating intractable skin ulcers such as pressure ulcers occurring with pockets and big pressure ulcers. The therapeutic material for pressure ulcers comprises a fibrous material which has been formed into an approximately spherical shape and in which an antibiotic and a cell proliferation accelerator are held. The therapeutic material is applied to a pressure ulcer site in which a defect extended to the dermis, subcutaneous tissue, muscle, or bone. With this therapeutic material, it is possible to heal critical skin ulcers such as intractable pressure ulcers occurring with pockets and big intractable pressure ulcers or to heal not only relatively mild pressure ulcers classified as stage II according to the American National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) classification, i.e., pressure ulcers with a loss of the dermis, but also severe pressure ulcers that have progressed to stage III to IV according to the NPUAP classification. In particular, intractable pressure ulcers occurring with pockets or big intractable pressure ulcers can be healed with the therapeutic material. |
