A software upgrading method and a related access device, which relate to the technical field of communications, and are used for performing software upgrading of a terminal by means of an access device in a local area network, thereby avoiding access to the Internet when software upgrading of the terminal is performed, and reducing the load of the network. The access device (50) comprises: a receiving unit (501), used for receiving software information sent by at least one terminal device in the local area network where the access device is located; a determining unit (502), used for comparing the software information sent by the at least one terminal device with software information stored in the access device, and determining whether target software to be updated exits; and a software updating unit (503), used for transmitting update information of the target software to a terminal device corresponding to the target software if it is determined that the target software to be updated exits on the at least one terminal device, so that the terminal device corresponding to the target software updates the target software of the terminal device according to the update information of the target software. |
