PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification device capable of exhibiting good exhaust gas purification performance, especially excellent purification performance even in a low temperature region.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas purification device is disposed in the middle of an exhaust gas passage 30 and a gliding arc plasma generator 10 and an exhaust gas purification catalyst 20 are disposed in series in this order in a flow direction E of exhaust gas. The plasma generator 10 comprises a pair of electrodes 11, 11, a voltage applying means 12 applying voltage between the electrodes 11 and an operating gas supply pipe 14 supplying an operating gas 13. The operating gas 13 is supplied to a plasma generation region 15 in which plasma is generated. Generated plasma is radiated onto the exhaust gas purification catalyst 20 at a subsequent stage via a plasma radiation part 16. The electrodes 11 form an electrode pair with each other having a shape so that a distance between the electrodes is increased along the flow direction of the operating gas 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
