PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device for which a request packet considering confidentiality of communication can be used.SOLUTION: A terminal device is connected to a content oriented network, transmits a request packet in which the name of content data is described, and receives data packet containing content data. The terminal device has a request converter 114 for encrypting the name of content data with a predetermined encryption key to convert the name of the content data to a first character array, and generating a request packet in which a character array containing a second character array representing the name of a gateway device and the first character array is described as the name of content data, and a request transmitter 113 for transmitting the request packet generated by the request converter 114 to the network.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
