PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure an electronic control unit's time for processing other than communication with a failure diagnostic tool even when the number of request messages transmitted from the failure diagnostic tool to the electronic control unit has increased.SOLUTION: A vehicle network system comprises: one or a plurality of electronic control units 200; and a gateway 100 that is connected between a failure diagnostic tool 400 and the one or the plurality of electronic control units and relays communication between the failure diagnostic tool and the one or the plurality of electronic control units. The one or the plurality of electronic control units receive a request message transmitted from the failure diagnostic tool through the gateway; create a request message to the request message; and transmit the response message to the failure diagnostic tool through the gateway. The gateway receives the response message and transmits the response message to the failure diagnostic tool after a predetermined period of time has elapsed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
