This fuel cell system, which is capable of detecting an AC component of power output from a power source and measuring the impedance of the power source, includes a fuel cell that generates power in response to a load, and a secondary battery that charges or discharges power. The fuel cell system further includes: a series power source conversion means that converts the power output from at least one power source of a series power source, in which the secondary battery and fuel cell are connected in series, into AC power, and supplies said AC power to the load; and a control unit that controls the AC power supplied to the load by the series power source conversion means. In addition, the fuel cell system includes an AC synthesis unit that synthesizes an AC signal for measuring impedance for the AC power controlled by the control unit. |
