PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the smooth engagement of a synchronizer by avoiding the abutment of tooth tips of internal peripheral spline teeth of a sleeve and tooth tips of dog teeth of a gear.SOLUTION: A synchronizer of a transmission comprises a guide ring 32 having guide teeth 32a which are slidably arranged in an axial direction, and protrude by prescribed distances in the axial direction toward a hub 18 rather than tooth tips of dog teeth 24a of a gear 16. Since phases of tooth tips of the guide teeth 32a and phases of the tooth tips of the dog teeth 24a of the gear 16 are displaced from each other by prescribed phases, phases of tooth tips of spline teeth 19a and phases of the tooth tips of the guide teeth 32a do not coincide with each other even if phases of the tooth tips of the spline teeth 19a of the sleeve 19 and phases of the tooth tips of the dog teeth 24a coincide with each other. Therefore, thrust torque is generated by the abutment of the spline teeth 19a and the guide teeth 32a, and the spline teeth 19a are smoothly engaged with the dog teeth 24a of the gear 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
