PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a transmission rate according to an amount of traffic.SOLUTION: A base station calculates a transmission capacity for each usage of available transmission rates, measures the RSSI value of a reception signal from a radio terminal, calculates the transmission rate used by the radio terminal based on the RSSI value, calculates the number of radio terminals using each of the transmission rates from the calculated transmission rate, calculates an amount of traffic generated in each transmission rate according to the calculated number of radio terminals, determines whether processing of the calculated amount of traffic is possible or not if the transmission rate is selected as automatic, calculates a processable amount of traffic for each usage of the transmission rates, selects the automatic as the transmission rate if the calculated amount of traffic is processable in a case the transmission rate is automatically determined for each of radio terminals, and selects the transmission rate with the largest amount of traffic processable as a transmission rate if the calculated amount of traffic is not processable.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
