PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire, allowing for production of a studless tire excellent both in on-ice performance and long term stability, and a studless tire employing the same.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a tire is provided which contains: (A) a diene rubber; (B) a carbon black and/or a white filler; (C) a crosslinkable oligomer incompatible with the diene rubber (A) or a polymer; and (D) a foaming component obtained by mixing a chemical foaming agent (d1) and a foaming assistant (d2) at a mass ratio (d1/d2) of 0.3 to 2.0 (D), and in which the content of the carbon black and/or the white filler (B) is 30 to 100 pts.mass based on 100 pts.maass of the diene rubber (A), the content of total of the crosslinkable oligomer or the polymer (C) and the foaming component (D) is 0.1 to 30 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the diene rubber (D) and the mass ratio of the crosslinkable oligomer or the polymer (C) and the foaming component (D) (C/D) is 0.80 to 3.0.SELECTED DRAWING: None
