PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a control program capable of making the finishing of stapling uniform between the case of face-up processing and the case of face-down processing.SOLUTION: An MFP includes: a printing part which executes printing onto a recording medium; a staple unit 25 which executes such stapling as to cause a needle 31 to pierce and stitch a bundle of printed recording mediums by means of the printing part; and a unit rotation part 26 which rotates the staple unit 25. Therein, the face-up processing and the face-down processing can be switched, and such upper piercing processing that the staple unit 25 causes the needle 31 to pierce the bundle from the uppermost layer side and such lower piercing processing that the staple unit 25 causes the needle 31 to pierce the bundle from the lowermost layer side can be switched by rotation of the staple unit 25 by means of the unit rotation part 26.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
