A base station software version management method, comprising: acquiring, by a network element device, information about a currently running version of a base station, and conducting difference comparison on the information about the currently running version of the base station with a version package file to be downloaded; and taking version files having differences, obtained through the difference comparison, as patch packages of a running version package of the base station and writing same into a download file information list, and issuing a patch package download message carrying the download file information list to the base station. Also disclosed are two base station software version management devices corresponding to the method. By means of the technical solution in the embodiments of the present invention, the download time can be shortened, and moreover, a pointless service interruption can be avoided since the base station does not need to be restarted during patch package activation, thereby improving the software upgrade efficiency of the system. |
