The invention relates to a locking device (1) for a door of a vehicle, comprising an actuating element (2), a deflecting lever (3), for actuating a door lock (12), and a blocking unit (10). According to the invention, the blocking unit (10) comprises a blocking mass (4) and a blocking member (5), wherein the blocking mass (4) and the blocking member (5) are each in mechanical operative connection with the actuating element (2). When a predetermined limit range (G) of an actuating speed (v) of the actuating element (2) is exceeded, the blocking mass (4), on account of the mass inertia, executes a translatory movement relative to the actuating element (2) and causes the blocking member (5) to move such that the blocking member (5) shifts the deflecting lever (3) into a target position such that force transmission between the actuating element (2) and the door lock (12) is interrupted. The invention also relates to a method for operating a locking device (1) for a door of a vehicle, wherein an actuating element (2) subjects a deflecting lever (3) to force, and wherein, when a predetermined limit range (G) of an actuating speed (v) of the actuating element (2) is exceeded, a blocking mass (4) of the blocking unit (10) executes a translatory movement relative to the actuating element (2), on account of the mass inertia of the blocking mass (4), and causes a blocking member (5) to move such that, by means of the blocking member (5), the deflecting lever (3) is shifted into a target position such that force transmission between the actuating element (2) and the door lock (12) is interrupted. |
