The present invention relates to a vehicle AVN system and a control method thereof. The vehicle AVN system comprises: a button unit having a plurality of buttons provided with each function; a vehicle speed sensor measuring a vehicle speed; a gear stage input unit inputted with gear stage information of a vehicle from a transmission device of the vehicle; an emergency signal transmission unit to transmit an emergency signal to a predetermined safety center; and a control unit determining whether a vehicle is in an emergency state based on the vehicle speed measured through the vehicle speed sensor and the gear stage information inputted through the gear stage input unit when detecting a button to be inputted from a user through the button unit, and transmitting an emergency signal to the safety center through the emergency signal transmission unit when determining the vehicle is in an emergency state. |
